This dramatic depiction of yellow lady slippers has a fluid feeling as they are flowing in the slow current of water. The rich yellow, green, and brown leaves and flowers in the center are framed with a color distortion of the same subject matter. This outer area, in its pinks, blues and purples are as if the water, that is slowly covering the scene, changes our perception of what is there.
